Your own armor is always High-Res. This option should enable the texture of other players' armor to display High-Res too.

Anyone here watch the John Stumme interview with DeBussy after the 7 hero/embark updates? "We're also planning something really big for April but I can't say anything else about it other than that it will be huge." I highly doubt this has ANYTHING to do with the anniversary, and I also doubt it has anything to do with WoC. There isn't much time left in April so this is it. It is most likely some content that has not been mentioned previously so guessing is pointless, I think it will most likely be something released at the time of the anniversary but have nothing to do with it.
Of course, guessing is always fun :P I think it may be something to do with either NF between GW1 and GW2 or possible somehow show the Foefire. (In the interview mentioned above, they talked about the Foefire a lot but John had said "although we would love to show the Foefire and it is a very important event, everybody there dies. We would need to find some way to time travel or something then somehow be immune to the event. Possibly April Fools was to test how players would react to this, and they are now planning to do it to show the event?)

I wouldn't mind if it's tonics. Would save me the effort to hunt down another 14 minipets to put in my HoM.

I bet ANet considered this too . Anything that requires HoM update might be annoying.

New content to show off the Foefire (and possibly the early Ebonhawke) would be very cool, and I don't think it would necessarily need to involve time travel. They could just as easily assign an oracle character/device (for example the Scrying Pool in EotN) that lets us briefly glance into the future to witness the destruction of Ascalon city, in the style we've seen in the Bonus Mission Pack (except this would let us experience the future instead of the past).
Needless to say this all would require a ton of new art resources the Live Team might not be able to produce at this time. It would be awesome if they could do this though.

Maybe everyone gets a 6th year mini like usual. The added bonus is everyone also gets a everlasting summoning stone that is representation of your character

Looks like the 50% off sale has started... right now it's 50% off on wedding costumes... how suitable for the English
[Edit] the post at Massively has been updated with more info:
Quote:
Characters celebrating their sixth birthday this year will find a surprise in their inventory, with the biggest surprise being what the gift is not: a minipet. That's right -- instead of sixth year miniatures, ArenaNet has introduced a series of over 30 different everlasting tonics.
|
So definitely no new minis this year
But:

Finally, we move on to our faithful Guild Wars heroes -- or one of them, anyway. There is an interesting bit of trivia in the Wiki regarding our Ritualist hero Razah: "Razah's profession is listed as 'variable' in the Nightfall manual. This was printed before the final design was decided upon."
Well, that's not quite the case. As John Stumme elaborates in our interview below, Razah was originally intended to be a wild card hero with a changeable primary profession. This anniversary update finally brings poor Razah the ability to live up to his potential, and you can now change his profession. Simply head out into the Heart of Abaddon (without Razah in your party), find Razah, and tell him what profession you'd like him to be. Congratulations, Razah!
|
Now that's a useful hero to have in your party!

Not really bummed about the minis - John is right in that there are already a ton out there. I would much rather them make collecting all the minis a bit easier than introduce a whole new slew of them.
Glad they finally have the tech to upgrade Razah, though I doubt I'll use him for anything else but a Rit anyway. There's too many heroes now that don't really see the light of day, so whether I can change Razah or not isn't that big of a deal. I would much rather see an update to the MH's that allow them to come pre-customized with the weapon, off-hand, and runes/insignias of the parent character (non-salvagable/tradable of course).
Otherwise, super-sales in the store will be cool, I can load up some of my mule accounts with extras. I just hope they add more stuff to it eventually, like weapon skins or the original pre-order items with updated stats.

Ah, but if they are Everlasting ones, Mal, then they won't help with your title, sadly! But hit me up IG, and I might be able to help ya out!
Anyway, maybe this thread should be closed, since there will be no 6th year minis...?
